Second Class Stationary Engineer - 3 positions open

SUMMARY

Responsible for operation of the steam boiler and assists co-workers in the operation and maintenance of the production process, working a 12 hour rotating shift schedule. Fulfills daily reporting requirements using an automated control system.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Include but are not limited to the following:.

1. Responsible to ensure that the steam boiler and associated systems are operated in accordance with operating procedures and established safe operating parameters.
2. Constantly review the operation of the steam plant to maintain safe operations.
3. Anticipate and identify problems and opportunities for improvement and take corrective action in a timely manner.
4. Sample and test as required to ensure steam quality and production up-time.
5. Assist co-workers in the operation of the production facility.
6. Manages the routine operating requirements of the waste water treatment system.
7. Maintain records of routine operating data and abnormal outcomes.
8. Responsible for cleanliness and housekeeping activities on a routine basis.
9. Perform preventative maintenance activities as required.
10. Assist maintenance staff in diagnosis and repair of equipment or control system problems.
11. Monitor use and inventory of raw materials, products, process chemicals and supplies.
12. Responsible for after business hours site security.
13. Participate in the facility health and safety program, and the quality assurance program.
14. Participate in projects that improve productivity and/or reduce operating costs.


KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

• The Second Class Stationary Engineer must possess a high school diploma and be certified as a Second Class Stationary Engineer.
• A high mechanical aptitude and good basic computer skills are required.
• Experience working rotating 12 hour shifts is preferable.
