Corn Germ

Corn germ is the pointed tip of the corn kernel and is processed to produce corn oil. Corn oil is coming back in vogue due to its very low trans-fat content. We currently send our corn germ outside of our facility to be processed but are examining our capability to process germ on-site to produce a virgin corn oil that would be consumed in Ontario.

Corn Starch – Food Grade

While the company does not currently produce any Food Grade starches it certainly has the capability to produce and market the following products:

Modified
Thin boiling and oxidized starches can be modified to meet increasingly sophisticated product formulations. These starches are preferred in confection, batter, and breading applications.

Unmodified
Starch is used as a thickener or binder in food products such as soups, sauces, gravies, and puddings. It is also used as a dusting and molding agent by bakers and confectioners. Cooked starch paste exhibits smooth viscosity when hot and forms a gel upon cooling.

Corn Oil

Corn oil is valued for its pleasant taste and excellent frying quality. Although most widely used as a salad or cooking oil, it is also used in a variety of food and medicinal preparations.
